Industries
From the port quay to the point of sale.
A container waiting at the port costs money every day. An empty shelf loses the customer. A late invoice delays collection. Import and distribution companies, retail networks, carriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers live by this mechanism. We put SAP to work for the chain, from customs clearance to collection, and Salesforce to work for the relationship with your customers, wholesalers and consumers alike.
The context
Margin is decided in the detail.
The Port of Dakar is the gateway to Senegal and, through the road corridor, to Mali. A large share of what is sold in the sub-region passes through a quay, a customs declaration, a warehouse and a truck before reaching a shelf or a business customer. Landed costs, customs clearance times, inventory spread across several warehouses and payments in foreign currency weigh on thin margins. Many companies still make do with separate systems for import, warehousing, sales and accounting, and inventory that nobody sees in full. Transformation means reunifying this chain, data, inventory and prices included, so that every decision is faster and better informed.
The challenges
What is at stake between the port and the customer.
Import & freight forwarding
Tracking every import file from the supplier order to exit from the port: documents, customs declaration, duties and taxes, landed costs allocated to the right item, and a cost price known at receipt rather than at closing.
Multi-warehouse inventory
A single inventory visible to all: central warehouse, regional depots, points of sale and goods in transit. Fewer stock-outs, less overstock, transfers decided on shared data.
Retail network
Managing shops, branches or franchisees spread across the country: a single product master, consistent prices and promotions, automatic replenishment, sales reported every day.
Order-to-Cash
From order to collection without a break: availability, pricing, delivery, invoicing and collection in a single flow, with payment terms that are managed rather than endured.
Transport & port logistics
For carriers, freight forwarders and logistics providers: container and shipment tracking, route and corridor planning, fleet management, invoicing of services and visibility offered to customers.
B2B & B2C customer relationship
Wholesalers, retailers, businesses and consumers do not expect the same thing: order taking, outstanding balances, delivery tracking and after-sales service on channels suited to each, with Salesforce.
